Geoffrey Kieta explains his purpose in writing this essay, “The time is rapidly approaching in which we will have to make some hard decisions and trust our God to do what is best for his people and the preaching of the gospel. But when we make those decisions, we simply cannot let practicality so rule our minds and hearts that we forget about God. In this presentation we will discuss… the financial crisis that has dominated our synod’s attention for the last several years. But I will not be offering you any solutions. Instead, I will try to set the entire discussion into a theological framework.” This paper is very much connected to another paper entitled “Taking Captive Every Thought: Theological Conversation in a Time of Crisis” (http://www.wlsessays.net/node/4041), that delves deeper into the general importance of conversation in times of crises.en_US
