Abstract

Professor John Jeske, in this exegetical brief, explores the hebrew word tmm and its unfortunate translations of “perfect” and “blameless.” He encourages the reader to understand the word as “wholehearted,” “consistent,” or “mature.” He also notes it’s use in the New Testament: “It may be of interest to note in passing that the Septuagint commonly translates tmim as τέλειος, a term used a half dozen times in the New Testament to describe one who has attained God's purpose (τέλος) for him.”
