The WELS' Walther Heritage
Abstract
Written in commemoration of the 175th anniversary of his birth and the 100th anniversary of his death, Professor Gawrisch shows the impact of Walther through his students who taught on Wisconsin Synod campuses as well as through the use of his writings. These teachers were able to hand down to the next generation the heritage of Walther. Gawrisch writes, “The Hoenecke heritage and the Walther heritage, both of which were rooted in the Scriptures, merged, so to speak, like two streams that come together after rising high in the mountains from a common source.”
