The Separation of Church and State as it Relates to our Christian Schools
Abstract
The church is to make disciples of all nations by using the gospel. The state, on the other hand, has the purpose of preserving a certain measure of peace and order in human society. There is a certain separation between church and state and Gawrisch examines the scriptural and confessional principles involved in this separation. This separation has even caused consternation in legal cases throughout the years. Schools often must apply the principles when they wish to receive funding from the government. However, Gawrisch reminds us to not encroach on the functions of state nor to use force or civil law in bringing sinners to Christ.
