Abstract

In this thorough introduction to the Psalms, Gawrisch discusses the authenticity of the Psalms and their dating. He gives an overview of what to look for in Hebrew poetry, but also the musical notation of the psalmody. He shows that there are various types of psalms. He looks briefly at two textual critical theories of the psalms, but he finishes with Luther’s view on the Psalms.
