The Moral and Scriptural Principles Concerning Test-Tube Babies
Abstract
In vitro fertilization can be a misunderstood topic. Gawrisch reveals the science behind IVF while showing that the process is meant for couples who have trouble conceiving. IVF, however, does not take place in a scientific vacuum; there are ethical implications. There are many groups that view the process differently. Some in the scientific world dehumanize the fetus to remove any ethical implications, while others in the religious world say the morality of IVF lies in the motivation of the parents. Gawrish ends by reminding his readers of the Scriptural principles involved.
