Hold On… To the Narrow Lutheran Middle

Abstract

Throughout its history the Church has had difficulty finding and keeping the narrow middle. In this paper Deutschlander exhorts his readers to hold on the narrow middle, particularly the middle between worker training and outreach. We also need to find and hold onto the middle between a pure dogmatic theology and divorcing Christ from the Scriptures. Holding onto this middle is not an easy task and requires self-examination in light of the Scriptures.
